Snapchat’s Our Story curated users’ Snaps to tell a timely, engaging story about an event or place—a constellation of unique perspectives strung together into a communal narrative. As a copywriter on the Our Story team, I wrote for the Life and Culture, News and Politics, Entertainment, and Sports verticals. I covered Lollapalooza and Fashion Week. Trump rallies and climate disasters. The Pokémon World Championships and the entire 2017 NFL season, including the Super Bowl (and I’m not even a football fan!). Fact-checking was on me. Speed and brevity were paramount. Puns were encouraged. My copy was viewed by millions of people a day.
